rollover images? Calling an image variable only by image name?

Ok, I need rollover functionality. Right now we can find no way to call the images by theyre root and filename without the script generating a full image code or a link, and since the debugger doesnt work we have no way to figure this out. Can anyone tell me how I could accomplish any of this?
