Adding an image to homepage

Hello
I'm new to ezpublish. I want to add an image to the frontpage / home page of my ezpublish site project. How do I do that? I would like to do something or exactly as this site http://www.planet-troy.com [sorry for copying design idea] And how do I change the main css of the whole site ...help welcome. thanks.
