Hello! Attempted to install the program on host's shared server and after clicking on the finetune button there is a message that "PHP option Magic Quotes is enabled". It is also noted that although the program would work better if this option were off, that the program can run with it on. The install is continued. Database information is placed into the blanks. Type: MySql Servername: localhost Username: User_abc Password: User_abc Socket (optional): Following page, "The database would not accept the connection, please review your settings and try again". Fill Database Page again (Changing the Severname): Type: MySql Servername: User_abc Username: User_abc Password: User_abc Socket (optional): Next page "The page cannot be displayed" page. What could be causing this? All help appreciated WP1

It sounds like the only problem is that you can't connect tot he mysql server.
Are you sure that your hosting company has mysql running on the same machine as the web server on port 3306?
If you are not absolutely sure, you might want to talk to the hosting company to find out where their mysql server is running and on what port.
You could also try 127.0.0.1 as the server... a badly misconfigured (or strangly configured) machine could actually not be able to resolve localhost.
